Catherine Jean did things the right way at the Challenge printanier last April. The young woman from the Côte-Nord region finished with the highest female average in the first round, earning the $100 prize offered by the Resto Rodi in Chicoutimi. C’est donc Jonathan Simoneau qui s’empara de la bourse de 500$ avec une moyenne de 219,11 (1972 en neuf parties). Mention spéciale à Dominic Belley, quilleur évoluant au Salon de Quilles Le Dallo, qui termina au 4e rang avec 216,78. À noter que seules les neuf parties de qualification furent calculées pour ce prix. Considérant le défi que représenta le patron Kegel du Challenge printanier, nous ne pouvons que féliciter nos quilleurs et lever notre chapeau à Jonathan.
Wow! The race for the best average sponsored by Pourvoirie Monts-Valin du Archer was epic! Only 22 points separated the first from the fifth position. Jonathan Simoneau took home the $500 with an average of 219.11 (1972 in nine games). Special mention to Dominic Belley, a bowler from the Salon de Quilles Le Dallo, who finished in 4th place with 216.78. Please note that only the nine games of qualifications were taken to give this award. C’est à la troisième ronde qu’il prit son envol avec une partie de 269. Puis, à la ronde suivante, celle qui devait déterminer le Top 4 de la finale PBA, il réussit 239 pour ainsi s’emparer du deuxième rang. À sa confrontation l’opposant à Maxime Boisvert, l’abat était obligatoire au dixième carreau, puis un compte de 8 au minimum. C’est exactement ce qu’il fit et il gagna par la marque de 187 à 186. En grande finale, il affronta Patrick Girard. Il n’en fit qu’une bouchée avec une victoire convaincante de 222 à 167. Le quilleur de l’équipe Canada Autos Sélection mit la main sur une bourse de 900$. Bravo!
The young Alexandre Duchesne of Baie-St-Paul conquered the singles portion of the 2024 Challenge printanier. It was in the third round that he really took off with a 269-game. Dans la Classe B, c’est l’équipe North Bowl Pro Pro Shop composée de Ryan Munson, EJ O’Melia, Jeremy Bonville et John Munson qui fut couronnée championne. Mention spéciale à Bonville qui réussit la SEULE partie parfaite de la fin de semaine. Elle vint à la toute dernière partie de la ronde finale. Finalement, l’équipe Centre Méga de Rouyn-Noranda gagna la Classe C. Ce quatuor était formé de Jason Bélanger, Sébastien Mercier, Nolan Mercier et Martin Cloutier.

The 2024 Challenge printanier crowned the team of Jean-Sébastien Lessard, David Simard, Pascal Dextraze and Jonathan Roy for the second straight year. Congratulations to Team JS Lessard Courtier immobilier. That’s quite an achievement!
North Bowl Pro Pro Shop (Ryan Munson, EJ O’Melia, Jeremy Bonville and John Munson) finished first in the B Division. Special mention to Bonville who bowled the ONLY perfect game of the weekend. It came in the very last game of the final round. You can check out the Challenge printanier’s Facebook page to watch the 10th frame, the celebrations and hear Bonville’s comments.
Finally, Centre Méga from Rouyn-Noranda won the C Division. The quartet consisted of Jason Bélanger, Sébastien Mercier, Nolan Mercier and Martin Cloutier.

Matys travaille chez Buffa Distribution depuis peu et il s’est taillé une place de choix à titre d’assistant marketing et préposé à la boutique du pro. Il rêvait de s’impliquer devant la caméra et de partager le feu qui l’habite. Il sera au Salon de Quilles Le Dallo le 25 avril afin de se préparer. It is a young enthusiast who will be at the head of this beautiful project: Matys Bibeau.
